The Junior League of Buffalo and The Buffalo News present the 15th Decorators’ Show House: E.B. Green’s Wallace Estate, from April 25 through May 17, 2009. Located for the first time in Eggertsville, the two-acre estate boasts a 9,000 square foot country mansion, a carriage house, built-in swimming pool and tennis courts.
Built in 1929 by the prestigious architect, E.B. Green, the mansion was designed in a French provincial style for David Wallace. It is one of 160 remaining E.B. Green-commissioned structures in Buffalo and among his final residential dwellings.
E. B. Green’s Wallace Estate will open for public viewing on Saturday, April 25 through Sunday, May 17, 2009, following a spectacular transformation by area decorators, craftsmen and landscapers. After touring the mansion, visitors may shop at LaPetite Fleur Boutique, featuring unique gifts and jewelry created by local artisans. Guests can also enjoy refreshments in the Café, located on the estate next to the Boutique.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Show House visitors to rediscover the Eggertsville area of Amherst and to enjoy beautiful LeBrun Road, which features grand mansions and estates in a park-like setting.
Proceeds from Decorators’ Show House 2009 will be used to support a significant community project.
