Junior League of Buffalo Cookbook

Great Lake Effects: Beyond Winter and Wings is collection of 145 recipes presented in four chapters: Bountiful Beginnings, Sweet & Savory Sides, Eclectic Entrees and Delectable Desserts. Throughout the cookbook, sidebars relate interesting facts and tales about people, places and events throughout Buffalo history. Further enhancing the book are reproductions of beautiful watercolors featuring Buffalo landmarks by the nationally recognized Buffalo artist, Margaret M. Martin, AWS.

Our cookbook has won several prestigious honors, including the 1997 Regional Tabasco Award, and is the Official Cookbook of the City of Buffalo (1999), as well as the Official Cookbook of Erie County (2000).

Proceeds from the sale of Great Lake Effects: Beyond Winter and Wings helps support the Junior League of Buffalo’s mission and commitment to training and leadership, and community partnerships with Literacy Volunteers of Buffalo, currently our Signature Project.
